Hello! My name is Ronneza and I want to dedicate my upcoming posts to women. The three "topics" I will be posting about concern Corazon Aquino, Maya Lin and Yoko Ono.

Corazon "Cory" Aquino was the first female president of the Philippines and although her political reign did not begin until 1986, she was a very prominent role-model as a loving wife, caring mother and generous servant-leader.

Maya Lin became popular for designing a memorial in 1981 commemorating and honoring the fallen, American soldiers of the VietNam war. Although only in her early 20's, she was able to overcome very political issues concerning her race, gender and design.

Yoko Ono was often featured in tabloids not only in the United States, but also across the globe. Her personal history with depression, artistic abilities and controversial relationships, including her infamous marriage with John Lennon of The Beatles, definitely positioned her to be a woman who was often looked down upon.

In my future posts, I will focus on the following aspects:
(1) Who these women were before they were featured under a spotlight
(2) Why they became famous/What they represented
(3) What impact they made on the world
