Hello, my name is Tricia Sakamoto and I will be focusing my three posts on Connie Chung, Minoru Yamasaki, and the birth of the term "Asian American".

Connie Chung was a Chinese American who was one of the first minorities to break through on TV. She was a reporter and the only Chinese American to be seen regularly on national television.

Minoru Yamasaki was a Japanese American architect who was most known for his design of the World Trade Center towers.

The term "Asian American" was used throughout the 1960s, but was not used formally until the 1970s.

With these blogs, I hope to inform people of Asian American history and it's effects on life today.
